About JD Werner

Josh Werner is a Brooklyn-based painter and musician. He has worked with artists including Lee Perry, CocoRosie, Wu-Tang Clan, Helio Parallax and Tunde Adebimpe.

Following his 2021 residency at the Cell Theatre in Manhattan, he released the LP Resilient Vessels: Live At the Cell, a collection of spiritual jazz improvisations. The recordings feature Werner alongside James Brandon Lewis, Ches Smith and Patrick Holmes, and are available on vinyl packaged in his original artwork through RRgems.
